Day 1: Arrival & City Orientation
- Arrive at Wellington International Airport.
- Check-in at your accommodation (recommended: The QT Museum Hotel for its unique rooms and central location).
- Visit the Te Papa Tongarewa Museum to explore New Zealand’s history, art, and culture. It’s open from 10 am - 6 pm daily.
- Stroll along the waterfront and take in the views of Wellington Harbour.
- Enjoy dinner at one of the city’s best restaurants, such as Ortega Fish Shack & Bar for seafood or Logan Brown for modern New Zealand cuisine.
Day 2: Explore Museums & Parks
- Morning visit to the Wellington Zoo to see some native and exotic animals.
- After lunch, head to the Space Place at Carter Observatory to learn about the universe.
- In the afternoon, explore the Botanic Garden or take a walk up Mount Victoria for panoramic views of Wellington.
Day 3: Cuba Street & Entertainment
- Spend the day exploring Cuba Street, known for its vibrant street art, boutique shops, and cafes.
- Visit the Museum of Wellington City & Sea to learn about the city’s history.
- In the evening, catch a show at the Circa Theatre or the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
- Dine out in Cuba Street’s numerous restaurants, such as Caffe L’Affare for coffee and cake or Mexican Restaurant El Mexicano.
Day 4: Weta Workshop & Day Trip
- Visit Weta Workshop in the morning to see the magic behind some of your favorite movies. Book a guided tour online.
- After lunch, consider a day trip to the Wellington Region. Options include the Kapiti Coast (with its beautiful beaches), Wairarapa (for vineyards and wildlife), or Martinborough (for wine tasting).
Day 5: Beach Day
- Head to one of Wellington’s beautiful beaches, such as Lyall Bay for swimming, or Scorching Bay for a quieter atmosphere.
- If you prefer urban beaches, try Oriental Bay or Evans Bay.
- In the evening, enjoy a beachside dinner at a local cafe or restaurant.
Day 6: Cable Car & Food Tour
- Take the iconic Wellington Cable Car up to Kelburn for panoramic city views and a visit to the Cable Car Museum.

Day 7: Departure
- Spend your last day shopping for souvenirs in the Lambton Quay area, grab a coffee at one of the city’s renowned cafes, and prepare for departure.
- Depending on your flight time, you might have time to visit the interactive City Gallery Wellington or the stunning St. James Theatre before heading to the airport.
