Wallis and Futuna Travel Itinerary (7 Days)
Day 1: Arrival and Mata-Utu Exploration
- Arrival: Fly into Wallis International Airport (WLX) on Uvea Island. The main airport for the archipelago, it’s located in Mata-Utu, the capital.
- Check-in: Find accommodation in Mata-Utu. Some options include Hotel des Aventuriers and La Pension de Famille.
- Activities: Visit the Cathedral of Saint Peter Chanel, explore the local market, and walk along the beautiful shoreline.
Day 2: Uvea Island Discovery
- Morning: Visit the traditional village of Hihifo, known for its wood carvings and tapa (cloth made from tree bark) making.
- Afternoon: Relax on the stunning beaches of Alo, Lola, or Hahake. You can also swim in the freshwater pools at Taveka.
- Evening: Enjoy a traditional Wallisian meal at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Futuna Island Exploration (Alo and Sigave)
- Morning: Fly to Futuna Island’s airport in Signihuni, then take a taxi or rent a car to reach Alo.
- Afternoon: Visit the beautiful beach of Alo, then explore the nearby Tinomana cave and the stunning landscapes of the Hihifo valley.
- Evening: Check-in at your accommodation in Sigave, the main town on Futuna Island.
