Venezuela 3 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Caracas & Telefericó El Ávila

  • Morning: Arrive at Simón Bolívar International Airport (CVG) in Caracas. Complete any necessary immigration procedures and obtain a Venezuela Tourist Card (visa on arrival for most nationalities, but check before travel). Exchange currency at the airport as US Dollars are widely accepted.

  • Afternoon: Visit the Museum of Modern Art (Museo de Arte Moderno) or the Museum of Contemporary Art (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo) to familiarize yourself with Venezuela’s vibrant artistic scene.

  • Evening: Enjoy a traditional Venezuelan dinner at a local restaurant, such as “Andrés Cabrita,” famous for its arepa dishes.

  • Late Afternoon/Evening: Take a scenic ride on the Telefericó El Ávila cable car system, which offers stunning views of Caracas and the surrounding Avila Mountain Range.

Day 2: Coro & National Park Nuestra Señora de la Chiquinquirá

  • Morning: Depart for Coro (approx. 5 hours by bus or hire a car). Arrive, have lunch, and visit the historic center of Coro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Afternoon: Head to National Park Nuestra Señora de la Chiquinquirá, which is home to unique flora and fauna, including the famous Andean condor. Take a guided tour (recommended) to explore the park’s beautiful landscapes and learn about its ecosystem.

  • Evening: Return to Coro and have dinner at a local restaurant, such as “La Casa de la Abuela.”

Day 3: Angel Falls & Canaima National Park

  • Morning: Depart early for the remote Canaima National Park (approx. 9 hours by car or flight). The park is home to Angel Falls, the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall.

  • Afternoon: Arrive at Canaima Village, where you can hire a boat to reach the base of Angel Falls. Spend the afternoon exploring the surrounding lagoons and jungle (guided tours are essential).

  • Evening: Return to Canaima Village for dinner and spend the night in basic accommodations.

Day 4: Return to Caracas

  • Morning/Afternoon: Depart Canaima National Park and return to Caracas (approx. 9 hours by car or flight). Spend the remainder of your day exploring more of the city, shopping for souvenirs, or relaxing before departing for home.
