Vancouver, BC 5-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Downtown Exploration
- Morning: Start your day with breakfast at Jam Cafe (449 W Hastings St) for their famous egg bennies. Then, visit the iconic Stanley Park. Walk or bike along the Seawall, visit the totem poles, and don’t miss the stunning views from Prospect Point.
- Afternoon: Head to Gastown (Water St & Cambie St) for lunch at Guu with Garlic (379 Water St). Explore the historic area, check out Steam Clock, and take a photo with the famous Gastown Goliath. In the afternoon, visit Granville Island. Shop at the Public Market, explore the arts, and grab some ice cream at Earnest Ice Cream (103 - 1600 Johnston St).
- Evening: Dine at Araxi Restaurant & Oyster Bar (1101 Cordova St W) for a taste of Pacific Northwest cuisine. Cap off the night with a drink at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar (604 Granville St), which offers stunning views of the city and the mountains.
- Things to Know: Downtown Vancouver is quite walkable, but you can also use the TransLink system for transportation.
Day 2: North Vancouver Adventure
- Morning: After breakfast at a local café in downtown, take the SeaBus (Lonsdale Quay) to North Vancouver. Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (3735 Capilano Rd). Walk across the bridge and explore the Treetops Adventure.
- Afternoon: Have lunch at Pizza Terra (120 - 127 W Esplanade) in North Van’s Lower Lonsdale district, also known as “The LoLo”. In the afternoon, head to Grouse Mountain (6400 Nancy Greene Way). Take the Skyride up and enjoy the views, visit the grizzlies, and if time allows, do the Grouse Grind.
- Evening: Dine at The Observatory at Grouse Mountain or head back downtown for dinner. Try Cactus Club Cafe Coal Harbour (1080 W Cordova St).
Day 3: Parks and Museums
- Morning: Start your day with a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park (4600 Cambie St). Enjoy the beautiful views, visit the Bloedel Conservatory, and have breakfast at The Tea House in Queen Elizabeth Park.
- Afternoon: Head to Vancouver Art Gallery (750 Hornby St) or Museum of Anthropology at UBC (6393 NW Marine Dr). Grab lunch at the UBC Botanical Garden & Centre for Plant Research (6804 SW Marine Dr).
- Evening: Dine at Kissa Tanto (263 E Pender St) for a fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine.
Day 4: Granville Island and Kitsilano
- Morning: Visit Granville Island again to explore what you might have missed the first day, or revisit your favorites. Have brunch at The Sandbar (1535 Johnston St).
- Afternoon: Head to Kitsilano Beach and rent a bike to cycle the Kitsilano Coastal Trail. Stop by Juke Fried Chicken (2078 W 4th Ave) for lunch.
- Evening: Dine at CinCIN Ristorante Italiano (1154 Great Northern Way) and enjoy a wine tasting from the extensive list.
Day 5: Richmond and Steveston
- Morning: Take a day trip to Richmond to visit Richmond Night Market (8351 River Rd, open Fri-Sun). Have lunch at New Town Bakery & Restaurant (8760 No 3 Rd) for their famous steamed buns.
- Afternoon: Head to Steveston Village in Richmond. Visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (121 Wryght St), explore the charming waterfront, and grab an ice cream at Steveston Fisherman’s Wharf.
- Evening: Return to downtown Vancouver for your last dinner. Try Tojo’s (1133 W Georgia St) for some of the city’s best Japanese cuisine.
