United States 5 Day Itinerary
Day 1: New York City
- Place to Go: Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, Empire State Building
- Activities: Take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, enjoy a stroll in Central Park, visit the observation deck at the Empire State Building, explore Times Square.
- Things to Know: New York is a big city with plenty of attractions; plan your day accordingly to make the most of it. Be aware of pickpockets in crowded areas.
- Transportation: The Subway (MTA) is the cheapest and most efficient way to get around the city. Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are also available.
- Visa Requirements: If you’re not an American citizen, you may need a B-2 Tourist Visa. Check with your local US Embassy or Consulate for details.
Day 2: Washington D.C.
- Place to Go: The White House, Capitol Building, Smithsonian Museums, Lincoln Memorial
- Activities: Take a tour of the White House (must be arranged in advance), visit the Capitol Building, explore the various Smithsonian Museums, and see the Lincoln Memorial.
- Things to Know: Many museums do not charge an admission fee. The city can get hot and humid in summer, so dress appropriately.
- Transportation: Washington D.C.’s Metro system is a convenient way to get around the city. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also available.
- Visa Requirements: Same as Day 1.
Day 3: Niagara Falls (Buffalo, NY)
- Place to Go: Niagara Falls (both American and Canadian sides)
- Activities: Take a Maid of the Mist boat tour, walk along the observation decks, enjoy a helicopter ride over the falls.
- Things to Know: Wear waterproof clothing as you’ll get wet on the Maid of the Mist tour. Remember to bring your passport if you plan to visit the Canadian side.
- Transportation: Rent a car or take a bus from New York City or Buffalo. Both cities have airports with numerous flights daily.
- Visa Requirements: Same as Day 1, plus check Canadian visa requirements if planning to visit the Canadian side.
Day 4: Las Vegas, Nevada
- Place to Go: The Strip, Bellagio Fountains, High Roller Observation Wheel, Red Rock Canyon
- Activities: Walk along The Strip, watch the Bellagio Fountains, ride the High Roller, take a day trip to Red Rock Canyon.
- Things to Know: Las Vegas is known for its casinos and nightlife. It can get very hot in the summer, so pack accordingly.
- Transportation: Rent a car or take a shuttle from McCarran International Airport. Walking along The Strip is also an option.
- Visa Requirements: Same as Day 1.
Day 5: Grand Canyon, Arizona
- Place to Go: South Rim of the Grand Canyon
- Activities: Take a guided tour, hike various trails, watch the sunset over the canyon.
- Things to Know: The South Rim is open year-round but roads may close in winter due to snow. Layered clothing is recommended as temperatures can vary greatly throughout the day.
- Transportation: Fly into Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport, then rent a car or join a tour to the Grand Canyon.
- Visa Requirements: Same as Day 1.
