Day 1: Arrival & Exploring the City Center
- Stay at: Hotel-Spa-Restaurant Le Saint-Georges (Centrally located, high-quality service)
- Eat at: Le Coin Toulousain (Traditional French cuisine, great atmosphere)
- Visit: Place du Capitole, Basilique Saint-Sernin, Jardin Royal
- Transportation: Walking is the best way to explore Toulouse city center. You can also use public transportation if needed.
Day 2: Exploring Museums & Space
- Visit: Musée des Augustins, Musée des Abattoirs, Cité de l’Espace (Space museum)
- Eat at: Chez Jean (Traditional French cuisine with a modern twist)
- Transportation: Bus or tram to reach the museums. Taxi or bike for Cité de l’Espace.
Day 3: Canal du Midi & Jardin Massabielle
- Visit: Canal du Midi, Pont Neuf, Jardin Massabielle (where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared in 1858)
- Eat at: Le Bistrot des Carmes (French bistro with a nice atmosphere)
- Transportation: Bus or tram to reach these locations. Boat tour for Canal du Midi.
Day 4: Vieux Toulouse & Market Visit
- Visit: Vieux Toulouse, Place St Pierre, Marché Victor Segalen (Local market with fresh produce and food)
- Eat at: Le Cumul (Contemporary cuisine with local products)
- Transportation: Walking is the best way to explore Vieux Toulouse. Public transportation if needed.
Day 5: Graffito & Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert
- Day trip to Graffito (Street art park) and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert (Medieval hilltop village, UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Eat at: L’Atelier du Pain (Great bakery for picnic supplies)
- Transportation: Train to Graffito and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
Day 6: Farewell Toulouse
- Visit: Le Mirail, Japanese Garden, Fondue de Toulouse (Local specialty, cheese fondue restaurant)
- Transportation: Bus or tram to reach these locations.
Tips:
- Toulouse is known as the “Pink City” because of the pink brick it’s built with. Don’t forget your camera!
- Toulousains (people from Toulouse) are friendly and love their city. Feel free to ask for recommendations.
- French is the primary language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.
- Toulouse is a bike-friendly city. Consider renting a bike for a day.
- Always validate your public transportation tickets before boarding.
