Day 1: Lhasa Exploration

Visa Requirements: All foreign tourists need a Tibet Travel Permit. For independent travelers, you must apply through a travel agency registered with the Tourism Bureau of Tibet.

Transportation: Flights to Lhasa are the most common way to reach Tibet. The airport is approximately 60km from Lhasa city. Taxis and buses are available at the airport for your convenience.

- Potala Palace: A symbol of Tibet and its history, this palace houses numerous cultural relics and offers a stunning view of the city.
- Jokhang Temple: One of the oldest Buddhist temples in Tibet, it’s located in the Barkhor district and is surrounded by the bustling Barkhor Street market.

- Norbulingka Palace: The summer residence of the Dalai Lama, it showcases traditional Tibetan architecture and beautiful gardens.
- Sera Monastery: Witness the lively debating sessions among monks in the courtyard.

Day 2: Lhasa Surroundings

- Drepung Monastery: One of the “great three” Gelug monasteries, it’s located on the outskirts of Lhasa.
- Ganden Monastery and the Ganden-Tsangpo Nature Reserve (optional): This requires a day tour and some physical fitness due to the steep climb.
