Tanzania 7-Day Travel Itinerary (Markdown Version)
Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam
- Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR).
- Visa requirements: Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. You can obtain an online visa or apply for one upon arrival. Check the latest requirements for your nationality.
- Transportation: Taxis are available outside the airport, or you can book a private transfer in advance.
- Things to know: Dar es Salaam is a bustling city with vibrant markets and street food. Explore Kariakoo Market and the National Museum of Tanzania.
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar (Stone Town)
- Take a short flight or ferry to Zanzibar Island (ZAN).
- Activities: Explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with narrow alleys filled with historic buildings, bazaars, and delicious street food. Visit the Palace Museum, House of Wonders, and Old Fort.
- Transportation: Flights or ferries are available from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar. Taxis and tuk-tuks can be used for getting around Stone Town.
Day 3 & 4: Zanzibar (Beaches and Spice Tour)
- Relax at Nungwi Beach, Kendwa Beach, or Jambiani Beach. Snorkeling, diving, and dolphin watching are popular activities.
- Day 4: Take a Spice Tour to learn about Zanzibar’s famous spices such as cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Day 5: Zanzibar to Serengeti National Park
- Take a flight or drive (with an overnight stop) to Serengeti National Park.
- Activities: Go on a game drive to spot the Big Five (lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). Hot air balloon safaris are also available for an unforgettable experience.
