Sudan 7-Day Travel Itinerary (Markdown Format)
Day 1: Khartoum
- Arrival at Khartoum International Airport.
- Visit the National Museum of Sudan, home to artifacts from various eras including prehistoric and Islamic periods.
- Explore the Omdurman Market, one of Africa’s largest markets, for authentic local goods.
- Evening visit to the Grand Mosque of Omdurman, one of the largest mosques in Africa.
- Overnight stay in Khartoum.
Day 2: Meroe and Nuri Pyramids
- Early morning departure to the ancient city of Meroe.
- Visit the Meroe pyramids, a collection of more than 200 pyramids dating back to the Kushite kingdom.
- Explore the Royal Cemetery of Nuri, containing pyramids of ancient Kushite kings and queens.
- Overnight stay in a local hotel near Meroe.
Day 3: Karima - Jebel Barkal & Napata
- Travel to Karima.
- Visit the Jebel Barkal, sacred mountain of the ancient Kingdom of Kush.
- Explore the ruins of Napata, capital of the early Kushite kingdom.
- Overnight stay in Karima.
Day 4: Kerma & Wadi Halfa
- Travel to Kerma, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient royal cemeteries and temple remains dating back to the Predynastic period.
- Continue to Wadi Halfa on the western bank of the Nile, near the border with Egypt.
- Overnight stay in Wadi Halfa.
Day 5: Abu Simbel & Aswan (Crossing Sudan-Egypt Border)
- Early morning excursion to the temple complex at Abu Simbel in Egypt.
- Cross the border to Aswan, Egypt.
- Visit the Philae Temple and the High Dam.
- Overnight stay in Aswan.
Day 6: Return to Sudan - Jebel Adda & Dongola
- Return to Sudan through Wadi Halfa border.
- Travel to Jebel Adda, home to ancient rock carvings and inscriptions.
- Continue to Dongola, the capital of the medieval Christian Kingdom of Makuria.
- Overnight stay in Dongola.
Day 7: Shendi & Khartoum
- Travel to Shendi, a city with rich history dating back to the ancient kingdoms.
- Visit the Soleb Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Return to Khartoum for departure or further exploration.

- Visa: Tourist visas can be obtained upon arrival at Sudan’s international airports for many nationalities. However, it is recommended to check the latest requirements before travel.
- Health: Yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required for entry. Malaria prophylaxis is advisable.
- Safety: Travel advice should be checked prior to departure due to occasional civil unrest and political instability in some regions.
