Stavanger 4-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Exploring the City

Arrive at Stavanger Airport Sola. You can take a bus or taxi to your accommodation. (Transportation: Bus 20/21 or Taxi)

Check-in at your hotel. Recommended hotels: Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Stavanger for luxury, Hotel Alexander for mid-range, and Stavanger Vandringsventurer for budget travelers.

Lunch: Visit the Old Town (Gamle Stavanger), where you’ll find numerous restaurants offering traditional Norwegian cuisine. Try Fiskeriet for seafood or Kafe Vagenbotten for a cozy atmosphere.

Afternoon: Explore Gamle Stavanger, take a stroll along the picturesque streets and admire the colorful wooden houses. Don’t miss the Stavanger Cathedral and the Old Stavanger Museum.

Evening: Relax at Bryggeriet Stavanger, a microbrewery with a great atmosphere and delicious food.
Day 2: Visit the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) & Lysefjord

Morning: Start early and take the Fjellsykling Preikestolen bike rental service to the parking lot for a scenic bike ride. Alternatively, you can take the bus to the trailhead. (Transportation: Bike or Bus 40)

Hiking to Pulpit Rock: The hike is approximately 8 km with an elevation gain of about 350 meters. It takes around 4 hours to reach Preikestolen, so make sure you have enough water and wear appropriate footwear.

Lunch & Return: Enjoy your packed lunch at the top while taking in the stunning views. Head back down in the afternoon.

Evening: After returning, relax and have dinner at Prekestolen Kafe or Preikestolen Camping near the parking lot.
Day 3: Exploring More of Stavanger & Petroleum Museum

Morning: Visit the Norwegian Petroleum Museum. Learn about Norway’s petroleum history and the impact it has had on the region. (Transportation: Bus 40)

Lunch: Have lunch at Kafe Petroleum, located inside the museum.

Afternoon: Head to Florli Church (Flørli Steps), just a short drive from Stavanger. Take a hike up the world’s longest wooden staircase, with 4,444 steps!

Evening: Return to Stavanger and have dinner at Koldgarden, a restaurant known for its innovative Norwegian cuisine.
Day 4: Enjoying Nature & Departure

Morning: Take a boat tour of the Lysefjord. You’ll get to see Kjeragbolten, another famous rock formation, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. (Transportation: Boat tour from Stavanger)

Lunch: Have lunch on the boat or back in Stavanger at your leisure.

Afternoon: If time permits, visit Utstein Abbey or explore more of Gamle Stavanger.

Departure: Head to Stavanger Airport Sola for your flight home. (Transportation: Bus 20/21)
