Day 1: Exploring Mogadishu
- Morning: Arrival at Aden Adde International Airport, Mogadishu. Complete your visa requirements beforehand as obtaining a tourist visa on arrival can be challenging for some nationalities.
- Afternoon: Visit the National Museum of Somalia to learn about the country’s rich history and culture. Then, take a stroll along Lido Beach, one of Mogadishu’s most popular spots.
- Evening: Enjoy traditional Somali cuisine at a local restaurant like Maansoon or Sahafiya.
Day 2: Discover Laas Geel Rock Art Site
- Morning: Depart early for Laas Geel, an ancient rock art site located about 45 km north of Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland. It’s best to arrange a guided tour for this trip.
- Afternoon: Spend time exploring and appreciating the well-preserved rock paintings dating back approximately 9,000 years. Return to Hargeisa in the evening.
- Evening: Dine at Hotel Asmara or Jazira Palace Hotel, known for their delicious Somaliland cuisine.
Day 3: Exploring Hargeisa
- Morning: Visit the Hargeisa Cultural Center and the Egal Museum to learn more about the local culture and history of Somaliland.
