Seville 3 Day Itinerary (No Tourist Traps)

Three days is our 2-day itinerary plus a third day for Metropol Parasol’s rooftop, the riverfront at dusk, and a full evening tapas crawl standing at the barra instead of rushing a sit-down table. Still entirely inside the historic centre and Triana, no day trips.

Day 1: Real Alcazar, Cathedral and Santa Cruz

Book the Real Alcazar the moment your dates are fixed, general admission runs EUR 12.50-15.50 for a mandatory timed online slot, there’s no walk-up option in any season. Built for Christian king Pedro I almost entirely by Muslim Mudejar craftsmen, its upper floors still host the royal family on visits, and the Ambassadors’ Hall and Baths of Maria Padilla doubled as Dorne in Game of Thrones.

Walk to the Cathedral next, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world by volume, EUR 13 online or EUR 14 at the door for a combined ticket covering the Cathedral, Giralda tower, and Salvador church (verify current tiers on catedraldesevilla.es ). The Giralda’s climb is a ramped switchback built for mounted guards, easier than most European tower climbs, and Columbus’s tomb sits inside, though historians still debate whether his actual remains made the crossing from the Dominican Republic.

Finish in Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter, its lanes built narrow and shaded to stay cool, not for the photos. Watch for the rosemary scam: a woman presses a sprig into your hand or grabs your palm for a “free” reading, then demands payment. Say no and keep walking. Dinner at a proper Andalusian spot closes the day.

Day 2: Triana, flamenco and Plaza de Espana

Cross the Puente de Isabel II into Triana, the ceramics and flamenco quarter that’s Santa Cruz’s honest counterpart, and browse the Mercado de Triana for lunch. In the afternoon, walk to Plaza de Espana, free, inside Maria Luisa Park, the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition’s tiled semicircle with a rowboat canal; go at golden hour to dodge the midday tour groups.

Is a Triana tablao worth booking over a central flamenco show? Yes. A real Triana tablao runs roughly EUR 20-33 show-only and keeps flamenco as a serious art form rather than a dinner-and-show add-on; book it 3-5 days ahead since the small rooms sell out. Skip anything bundling sangria and tapas into the ticket, that’s Sevillanas, a lighter tourist folk dance, not flamenco.

Day 3: Metropol Parasol, the riverfront and tapas

Is standing at the bar actually cheaper than sitting for tapas? Yes, usually. Standing at the barra is the local norm and most bars run a separate, listed terraza price tier for tables, that’s a normal structure, not a scam. A single tapa runs EUR 3-5; do a 4-6 bar crawl for EUR 20-35 a person, ordering espinacas con garbanzos and salmorejo along the way.

Carry water regardless of season; June through September regularly hits 40C, so front-load outdoor time before 11am or after 7pm and treat 2-5pm as a built-in break.
