Sarajevo 5-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & City Orientation

Arrive at the International Airport of Sarajevo (IATA: SJJ), take a taxi or arrange for airport transfer to your accommodation.
Check-in at one of these centrally located hotels: Hotel Europe or Hotel Holiday.
Freshen up and start your journey with a traditional Bosnian coffee at [Kafana Sehef] (location: Sarajevska cesta bb, 71000 Sarajevo)
Visit the Baščaršija (Old Town), explore the narrow streets, shops, and historic mosques like Gazi Husref Beg’s Mosque and the Clock Tower.
End the day with dinner at Kod ćoćka for some delicious ćevapi (traditional Bosnian dish).

Start your day with breakfast at your hotel or El Harem for a taste of local cuisine.
Visit the Sarajevo Roses, memorial sites created from the red concrete that marked the edges of military positions during the Siege of Sarajevo (1992-1996).
Head to Tunnel of Hope (Tunel spasače), a historical landmark representing the resilience and spirit of the city.
After lunch, explore the Museum of Crime against Humanity and War Crimes, providing insight into the atrocities during the Siege of Sarajevo.
Visit the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina to learn about the country’s rich history and culture.
Enjoy dinner at Vjekoslava Majstorović for some authentic Bosnian dishes.

After breakfast, take a taxi or public transportation to the Ilidža Park, a beautiful oasis in the city with walking trails, lakes, and plenty of greenery.
Head to Olympic Mountain Trebević (Trebesnjica) for breathtaking views of Sarajevo. You can hike or take a taxi up.
For lunch, grab some sandwiches or snacks at Konoba Raja near Trebević.
In the afternoon, visit the Eternal Flame, a monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers of World War I and II.
Spend the evening exploring local bars and nightlife in Bascarsija or Alipašina Street.

Rent a car or book a day tour to visit nearby attractions such as Blagaj and Mostar.
Start with Blagaj, home to the beautiful Dervish Monastery and the source of Buna River.
Enjoy lunch at Konoba Koko in Blagaj.
Head to Mostar in the afternoon, explore the old town, and visit the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge).
Try some local dishes like burek or cevapcici at Konoba Peke in Mostar.
Return to Sarajevo for the evening and rest.

Have breakfast at your hotel or try out Vijećnica Library for a unique dining experience in a historic building.
Spend the morning exploring any remaining sights you may have missed, like the Latin Bridge and Sarajevo War Tunnel.
Pick up souvenirs from the local shops in Bascarsija before heading to the airport for your departure.
