Sapporo 4-Day Itinerary: Exploring the Heart of Hokkaido

Day 1 - Arrival & Explore Odori Park & Sapporo TV Tower

  • Arrive at New Chitose Airport and take a JR train to Sapporo Station (approx. 40 minutes, JPY 1,200 one way).
  • Check-in at your hotel (recommendation: Granbell Hotel Sapporo Odori or Sapporo Park Hotel).
  • Visit Odori Park, a large city park with seasonal events like the Sapporo Snow Festival in winter.
  • Head to Sapporo TV Tower for panoramic views of the city.
  • For dinner, try some Sapporo Ramen at Ichiran (Odori) or Miso Katsuei (Tanukicoji).

Day 2 - Explore Historic Sapporo & Visit the Sapporo Beer Museum

  • Start your day with a visit to the Historic Village of Hokkaido, where you can learn about Sapporo’s history and early development.
  • Head to the Sapporo Beer Museum for a beer tasting and lunch at the attached restaurant (JPY 800 lunch set).
  • In the afternoon, explore the bustling streets of Susukino, known for its nightlife but also offering unique souvenir shops during the day.
  • For dinner, try fresh seafood at Sapporo Ichiba Market or grilled corn (yaki imo) from street vendors in Odori Park.

Day 3 - Day Trip to Otaru & Furano

  • Take a JR train from Sapporo Station to Otaru (approx. 1 hour, JPY 2,060 one way).
