7-Day Itinerary for Exploring Salvador da Bahia
Day 1: Arrival & Historic Center
- Accommodation: Lodge in Pelourinho (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - Casa do Amarelindo, Casa do Baixo or Pousada Terra Santa.
- Activities: Visit the historic center, Pelourinho, explore its colorful streets and baroque architecture. Don’t miss the Church of Sao Pedro dos Clerigos, Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos, and Largo do Todos os Santos Square.
- Food: Dinner at Restaurante Candeias or Restaurante Solar da Pacoca for traditional Bahian cuisine.
- Things to know: The city is safe during the day but can be more lively (and potentially unsafe) at night. Keep your belongings secure, especially in crowded areas.
Day 2: Museums & Mercados
- Activities: Visit Museu Afro-Brasil, Museu da Bahia, and Museu Mineirao. Explore the local markets such as Mercado Modelo for souvenirs and Mercado Central do Salvador for food.
- Lunch: At Casa de Tereza or Restaurante Lagoa Rosa for traditional dishes.
- Dinner: At Restaurante Da Lota, a rooftop restaurant offering stunning views of the city.
Day 3: Praia de Porto da Barra & Mercado Mercador
- Activities: Spend the morning at Praia de Porto da Barra. Visit Mercado Mercador in the afternoon for fresh seafood.
- Lunch: Fresh seafood lunch at any of the restaurants near Mercado Mercador.
- Dinner: At Restaurante Bonfim or Restaurante Casa do Forte.
Day 4: Igreja de São Francisco & Morro de Sao Joaquim
- Activities: Visit Igreja de São Francisco and its beautiful Golden Chapel. Spend the afternoon at Morro de Sao Joaquim, a vibrant neighborhood with stunning views of the city.
- Lunch: At Restaurante da Zé do Corno or Restaurante Barra Velha.
- Dinner: At Restaurante Casa da Cultura or Restaurante Riachuelo.
Day 5: Bonfim Church & Olodum Show (Wednesday)

- Dinner: Back in Salvador, at Restaurante Além da Bahia or Restaurante Barra Velha.
Day 7: Free Day & Departure
- Activities: Spend your last day exploring any places missed earlier, shopping for souvenirs, or relaxing on the beach.
- Farewell Dinner: At one of your favorite restaurants from the week or at Restaurante Solar do Unhão, a seafood restaurant with great views.
- Departure: Head to Salvador’s international airport (SSA).
