7-Day Rome Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & The Colosseum
Welcome to Rome! Today, we’ll start with the iconic Colosseum. Purchase a combined ticket (which includes access to Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum) for convenience. After exploring these ancient sites, grab a slice of pizza at nearby Pizzeria La Montonara da Remo.

- Things to Know: Rome is notorious for pickpocketing, keep your belongings secure.
- Transportation: Rome’s public transportation system (ATAC) includes buses, trams, and metro lines. A 48-hour pass can be a good investment if you plan to use it often.
Day 2: Vatican City & St. Peter’s Basilica
Spend the day exploring Vatican City. Start with the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel, and end at St. Peter’s Basilica. For dinner, try Osteria del Tevere, a charming trattoria near the Tiber River.
Day 3: Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps & Gelato Tour
Visit the famous Trevi Fountain and throw a coin for good luck. Then climb the Spanish Steps and enjoy the view. Don’t miss the gelato tour! Sample some of Rome’s best gelato at places like Giolitti, Fatamorgana, or Gelateria del Teatro.
Day 4: Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori & Trastevere
Explore the Pantheon, a remarkable ancient monument still in use as a church. Visit the lively Campo de’ Fiori market and enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants there. In the afternoon, stroll through the picturesque neighborhood of Trastevere.
Day 5: Villa Borghese & Tivoli Gardens
Spend a relaxing day in Villa Borghese, a beautiful park with museums, gardens, and a lake. Alternatively, take a day trip to the stunning Tivoli Gardens and Hadrian’s Villa.
Day 6: Catacombs & Appian Way
Visit the Catacombs of St. Callixtus for a glimpse into Rome’s ancient Christian history. Then head to the Appian Way to see the tombs of several emperors and the Arch of Drusus. For your last dinner, dine at Roscioli 1875, known for its excellent pasta and wine.
Day 7: Departure
