Qom Iran 4 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Qom & Exploring the City

  • Arrival: You can reach Qom by air through the Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) or by road from nearby cities. From IKA, it’s about a two-hour drive to Qom.

  • Check-in & Rest: After settling into your hotel, take some time to rest and freshen up. Recommended hotels: “Hotel Beheshti” for mid-range budget or “Ferdows Hotel” for luxury stays.

  • Afternoon Visit: Start your exploration with the Holy Shrine of Fatima Masumeh (Imamzadeh Masumeh), one of the most significant religious sites in Shia Islam.

  • Evening: Have dinner at local restaurants such as “Abbas Chobee”, famous for its Qom-style kababs, or “Shiraz Delicious Food” offering a variety of Persian dishes.

  • Things to Know: Respect the religious sensitivities of the city and dress modestly. Alcohol is not readily available in Qom due to its status as a holy city.

Day 2: Exploring Qom’s Cultural Landmarks

  • Morning Visit: Begin your day with the Israfil (Sarasalm) Mosque, known for its stunning architecture and intricate tile work.

  • Afternoon: Head to the Qom Seminary School, one of the largest in the world, where thousands of Shia clerics study. You can take a guided tour to learn about the educational system.

  • Evening: Spend your evening at the vibrant Bazaar-e Bozorg, where you can shop for traditional Iranian goods, from Persian carpets to spices and souvenirs. Have dinner at local eateries like “Abbas Chobee” or “Mahdieh”.

Day 3: Day Trip to Kashan

  • Morning: Take a day trip to the nearby city of Kashan (approx. 1 hour 45 minutes by car). Visit the famous Fin Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the beautiful Boroujerdi House.

  • Afternoon: Explore the stunning Agha Bozorg Mosque and the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse. Don’t forget to try some local delicacies in Kashan.

  • Evening: Return to Qom and have dinner at your preferred restaurant from Day 1.

Day 4: Departure

  • Morning: Spend your last hours in Qom exploring any sights you may have missed or revisiting favorite spots.

  • Check-out & Departure: Check out from your hotel and make your way to the airport for your onward journey.
