Day 1: Exploring Doha

Morning:

  • Transportation: The public transportation system in Doha is well-developed. You can use the Doha Metro or the Doha Bus Network for a hassle-free journey around the city.

Souk Waqif:

  • Visit this traditional market filled with shops selling local goods such as spices, textiles, and gold jewelry. Don’t forget to try some Arabic coffee or shisha while you’re there!
  • Activity: Take a guided tour of the nearby Al Khor Al Ain Falaj system, an ancient underground irrigation system, for a glimpse into Qatar’s rich heritage.

Lunch:

  • Savor some authentic Qatari cuisine at one of the many restaurants in Souk Waqif or try out international favorites at the food court within the market.

  • Activity: Take a boat tour of the Inner Island, enjoy the crystal-clear waters, and see some of the stunning villas that grace this exclusive area.

Lunch:

  • The Pearl-Qatar: Enjoy a meal at one of the many international restaurants located in The Pearl.

Afternoon:

  • Al Zubarah Fort and Archaeological Site: Visit this historic fortress, Qatar’s first UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the ruins of the ancient town that once thrived here.
  • Activity: Embark on a desert safari experience in the Sealine Beach area, where you can enjoy dune bashing, camel riding, and sandboarding!

Evening:

  • Doha Tower (Al Bidda Tower): Head to this 47-story tower for a panoramic view of Doha city at sunset. The observation deck is open until 10 pm.
  • Activity: End your day with a visit to the Hamad International Airport’s teddy bear museum, if you have an extended layover. It showcases over 500 unique teddy bears from around the world!
