Puerto Rico 6-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Old San Juan
- Arrive at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). No visa is required for U.S. citizens, but check if needed for your nationality.
- Transportation: Taxis and rental cars are available at the airport. Public transit is also an option with the Metrobus system.
- Explore Old San Juan. Wander the colorful streets, visit El Morro Castle, and admire the blue Caribbean Sea from the Santurce Espectacular Promenade.
Day 2: Exploring Old San Juan & Beach Time
- Morning: Visit the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, the Puerto Rico Museum of Art, or take a guided tour to learn about the city’s history and culture.
- Afternoon: Head to Condado Beach for relaxation, watersports, or beachfront dining.
Day 3: El Yunque National Forest & Luquillo
- Morning: Drive east to El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Hike La Mina Falls and explore the park’s flora and fauna.
- Afternoon: Stop by Luquillo Beach for a dip or grab lunch at a local kiosk.
Day 4: Caribbean Bioluminescent Bay & Fajardo
- Evening: Join a guided tour to the Bioluminescent Bay in Fajardo, where you can witness the glowing microorganisms in the water.
- Overnight stay in Fajardo or surrounding area.
Day 5: Culebra Island & Snorkeling
- Morning: Take a ferry to Culebra Island. Spend the day exploring Flamenco Beach, snorkeling at Playa Tortuga, and relaxing in this idyllic Caribbean destination.
- Overnight stay on Culebra Island or return to Fajardo.
Day 6: Rincón & Surfing (or Ziplining)
- Morning: Head west to the surf town of Rincón. If you’re not into surfing, try ziplining at Aventura Tierra Adentro.
- Afternoon: Visit the lighthouse at Punta Higuero and enjoy a final Puerto Rican meal in this charming seaside town.
- Departure: Return to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport for your flight home.
