Portugal 7 Day Itinerary

Title: Seven-Day Portuguese Adventure

Day 1 - Lisbon (Arrival)

  • Arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport.
  • Visit the historic center of Lisbon, including Baixa Pombalina, Belem Tower, and Jeronimos Monastery.
  • Explore the Alfama district and enjoy traditional Fado music in a local restaurant.
  • Know Before You Go: Portugal uses the Euro as currency. English is widely spoken.

Day 2 - Lisbon

  • Visit the iconic Tram 28 for a tour of Lisbon’s hilly districts.
  • Explore the Time Out Market and sample local cuisine.
  • Spend an afternoon at Praia da Costa da Caparica, one of Lisbon’s best beaches.

Day 3 - Sintra and Cascais

  • Day trip to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site with castles and palaces like Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira.
  • Continue to the charming coastal town of Cascais, known for its beautiful beaches and marina.

Day 4 - Obidos & Nazaré (Day Trip)

  • Visit the medieval village of Óbidos, famous for its Gothic castle and delicious ginja liqueur.
  • Head to Nazaré, known for its massive waves and the iconic Nuragas cliff jump site.

Day 5 - Coimbra & Aveiro (Day Trip)

  • Visit the ancient university city of Coimbra, home to Portugal’s oldest university and the stunning Coimbra Cathedral.
  • Explore the “Venice of Portugal”, Aveiro, with its canals, art nouveau architecture, and saltwater lagoon.

Day 6 - Porto

  • Arrive in Porto and visit the Ribeira district, Clérigos Tower, and Livraria Lello, one of the world’s most beautiful bookstores.
  • Enjoy a port wine tasting in Vila Nova de Gaia.
  • Take a stroll over the Dom Luís I Bridge.

Day 7 - Porto (Departure)

  • Spend your last day exploring more of Porto, perhaps visiting the Serralves Museum or the Church of São Francisco.
  • Depart from Porto Airport.
