Phnom Penh 5-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Exploring the City

Arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport. You can take a taxi or tuk-tuk to your hotel (recommended hotels: Raffles Le Royal, Park Hyatt, or The Quay Hotel).
National Museum of Cambodia: Open from 8 am to 5 pm. Home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of Khmer art. Admission fee: $3.
Wat Phnom - A hilltop temple dating back to 1437, a peaceful escape in the city center.
Riverside Walk: Enjoy the sunset view over the Mekong River and Tonle Sap River.
Dinner at FCC Angkor: Located on the riverside, offering a mix of Cambodian and international dishes.

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (Open from 8 am to 5 pm, closed on weekends). Witness the dark history of the Khmer Rouge regime. Admission fee: $3.
Killing Fields of Choeung Ek: Located about 17km southwest of Phnom Penh. A somber but important site to understand the Cambodian history. Admission fee: $3.
Lunch at Psar Tuol Tom Pong (The Russian Market): Try local street food or buy souvenirs.
Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda: Open from 7 am to 10:30 am and 2 pm to 4 pm. Marvel at the architectural beauty of the palace and the Silver Pagoda containing over 5,000 silver tiles on its floor. Admission fee: $6.
Dinner at Malis: A high-end Khmer restaurant offering traditional dishes with a modern twist.

Central Market (Phsar Thmei): Shop for souvenirs and sample local street food.
Visit Wat Ounalom: The highest ranking Buddhist temple in Cambodia, located near the Central Market.
Lunch at Friends Restaurant: A social enterprise supporting former street children in Cambodia.
Tuol Tompong Lake (Boeung Tammodol): Experience local life and try some grilled snakes and spiders.
Dinner at Romdeng: Another social enterprise, offering delicious Khmer cuisine while supporting underprivileged children in Cambodia.

Morning trip to Koh Dach. You can arrange a boat tour from the riverside, which usually includes weaving workshops and a local village visit.
Lunch at Koh Dach: Enjoy traditional Khmer dishes while overlooking the tranquil island.
Return to Phnom Penh in the afternoon. Spend your evening exploring the nightlife along the riverside.
Dinner at Chanrey Tree: A popular restaurant serving delicious Cambodian food with a modern twist.
