Petra 5 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Acclimatization

Arrival: Fly into Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman. From there, take a taxi or rent a car for the 3.5 hours drive to Petra.

Check-In: Upon arrival in Petra, check-in at your hotel. Some recommended options include Mövenpick Hotel Petra, Basma Hotel Petra, and Al-Qantara Luxury Camp.

Dinner & Rest: Have dinner at one of the local restaurants near your accommodation. Try the famous Petra-style Falafel or Mansaf (national dish). Get a good night’s rest as you’ll need energy for the coming days!
Day 2: Exploring the Main Site of Petra

Breakfast: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel.

Petra Visit: Enter Petra through Al-Khazneh (The Treasury). Spend the day exploring the main site, including the Monastery, Royal Tombs, and the Siq (the entrance pathway to Petra). Remember to bring water and wear comfortable shoes!

Lunch: Grab lunch at one of the local cafes inside Petra. Try a traditional Maqluba dish or Fattet Dajaj (chickpea and rice casserole with yogurt).

Petra By Night: In the evening, join the Petra by Night tour, which takes you through the candlelit Siq to The Treasury.
Day 3: Little Petra & Wadi Rum

Breakfast & Departure: After breakfast, head to Little Petra (Al-Beidha). Spend a few hours exploring this smaller version of Petra.

Lunch & Transfer: Have lunch in the nearby town of Wadi Musa. Then, arrange a 4x4 Jeep tour to explore Wadi Rum. Overnight at a Bedouin camp under the stars.
Day 4: More Wadi Rum Activities

Sunrise: Wake up early to watch the sunrise over Wadi Rum.

Activities: Spend the day engaging in various activities such as camel riding, hiking, hot air balloon rides, or stargazing (if conditions are favorable).

Dinner & Return: Enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner and return to Petra.
Day 5: Free Exploration & Departure

Breakfast: Have breakfast at your hotel.

Free Time: Spend the morning exploring any areas of Petra you missed or revisiting your favorites. Alternatively, take a hike to Al-Deir (The Monastery) if you haven’t already done so.

Lunch & Departure: Have lunch in Petra before heading back to Amman for your flight home. If time allows, do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs or visit other attractions in the area such as Aqaba or Madaba.
