Day 1: Lima

  • Arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport, Lima.
  • Check into your hotel and rest from the flight.
  • Visit the Larco Museum for a glimpse of Pre-Columbian art.
  • Explore Miraflores Central Park and Kennedy Park.
  • Enjoy local Peruvian cuisine in a beachfront restaurant.

Day 2: Lima - Cusco

  • Fly to Cusco (flights available multiple times per day, approximately one hour journey).
  • Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude.
  • Visit the Coricancha Temple and the nearby Santo Domingo Church.
  • Explore the bustling San Pedro Market.
  • Overnight in Cusco.

Day 3: Cusco - Sacred Valley

  • Travel by bus to the Sacred Valley (approximately one hour).
  • Visit Pisac Market and Ruins.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant in Urubamba.
  • Explore Ollantaytambo Incan Ruins.
  • Overnight in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).

Day 4: Machu Picchu

  • Early morning train to Machu Picchu (trains depart from 5:30 AM, journey takes approximately 25 minutes).
  • Spend the day exploring the Incan Ruins of Machu Picchu with a guide.
  • If energy permits, hike Huayna Picchu for a panoramic view.

Day 5: Cusco

  • Return to Cusco by train and bus (combined journey takes approximately 3-4 hours).
  • Visit the Qorikancha Temple, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay - collectively known as the Sacred Incan Sites of Cusco.
  • Overnight in Cusco.

Day 6: Cusco - Lima - Departure

  • Fly back to Lima (flights available multiple times per day, approximately one hour journey).
  • Spend your last hours shopping for souvenirs or relaxing at a beachfront café.
  • Depart from Jorge Chávez International Airport.

  1. Peru uses the sol (PEN) as its currency. Credit cards are widely accepted in cities, but cash is often needed in rural areas.
  2. The official language is Spanish, but Quechua and Aymara are also spoken in some regions.
  3. The best time to visit Peru is during the dry season from May to October.
