Niue 7 Day Itinerary
Title: 7-Day Explorer’s Guide to Niue
Day 1 - Arrival & Alofi Settlement
- Arrive at Hannan International Airport (HIFA). Remember, you need a valid passport with at least six months validity and onward travel arrangements. No visa is required for a stay of up to 30 days.
- Check into your accommodation and freshen up.
- Visit Alofi Settlement - the administrative capital of Niue. Explore the local shops, try some traditional Niuean food at Tropix Cafe, and visit the Niue Memorial Park.
Day 2 - Explore the Limu Pools & Matava Chasm
- Rent a car (highly recommended for exploring Niue) and head to the Limu Pools and Matava Chasm. These natural wonders are best explored at low tide. Remember to wear reef shoes.
- In the afternoon, relax on the beautiful Slippery Rock Beach.
Day 3 - Discover the Caves & Hiking
- Spend the day exploring Niue’s many caves. Visit the Togo Chasm, the Hio Cave, and the Talava Arches. These sites require a guided tour, so book in advance.
- In the evening, enjoy a traditional Niuean Lovo feast. This is a cooking method using earth ovens.
Day 4 - Marine Life & Snorkeling
- Spend the day snorkeling at one of Niue’s many beautiful reefs. Popular spots include Matapa Chasm, Avaiki Cave, and the coral gardens off the coast of Hakauati.
- Don’t miss out on the opportunity to swim with the spinner dolphins! Book a tour to see these amazing creatures up close.
Day 5 - Liku Scott Scenic Reserve & Avaiki National Park
- Spend the day hiking in the beautiful Liku Scott Scenic Reserve and Avaiki National Park. Keep an eye out for Niue’s national bird, the Kermadec Reed Warbler.
- In the evening, relax at the stunning Matafonua Beach.
Day 6 - Talava Arches & Whale Watching
- Visit the Talava Arches again, this time at high tide for a different perspective.
- If you’re visiting between June and October, book a whale watching tour to see humpback whales up close.
Day 7 - Departure
- Spend your last day relaxing, shopping for souvenirs, or revisiting your favorite spots before heading back to Hannan International Airport for your departure.
