- Grab lunch at Pizzeria Sorbillo, one of Naples’ best pizzerias, for a authentic Neapolitan pizza experience.

Day 2: Sites Beyond Naples
Morning:
- After breakfast at your hotel, take a short train ride to Pompeii. Spend the morning exploring this ancient Roman city preserved under volcanic ash since A.D. 79.
- For lunch, head to Antica Pizzeria da Michele, made famous by Elizabeth Gilbert’s book “Eat Pray Love”. The original location in Naples is less touristy than the one in Pompeii.
Afternoon:
- In the afternoon, visit the Herculaneum, another ancient Roman town buried by the eruption of Vesuvius. Its well-preserved villas and streets offer a unique glimpse into daily life during the Roman Empire.
Evening:
- Return to Naples and have dinner at Da Dora, known for its fresh seafood and stunning views of the Bay of Naples.
Transportation:
- Naples has an extensive public transportation system, including buses, trams, and the metro. It’s also a city where you can easily walk between many attractions. Consider purchasing a Campania Artecard for discounted entry to museums and unlimited travel on public transport.
Things to Know:
- Naples is known for its lively street culture, so be prepared for noise and crowds, especially in the historic center.
- Be aware of pickpockets, particularly in crowded tourist areas like the Spanish Quarter. Keep your belongings secure and avoid displaying expensive items.
- Italians generally take their afternoon siesta between 1 pm and 4 pm, so some businesses may be closed during this time. Plan your day accordingly.
Tips:
- Try the local street food, such as panzarotti (fried dough with cheese or meat) and fritto misto (mixed fried seafood).
- Learn a few basic Italian phrases to help navigate the city and interact with locals.
- Enjoy your trip to Naples and the surrounding area!
