Namibia 7-Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Windhoek City Exploration

  • Arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport.
  • Visit the Christ Church, Independence Memorial Museum, and Tintenpalast (Parliament Building).
  • Dinner at Joe’s Beerhouse for a taste of local cuisine.
  • Overnight stay in Windhoek.

Day 2: Namibia-Naukluft Park & Sesriem

  • Morning drive to Namib-Naukluft Park (approx. 3 hours).
  • Explore the famous Dune 45 and capture the sunrise views.
  • Continue to Sossusvlei for lunch and visit the towering sand dunes around the vleis.
  • Overnight stay at a lodge near Sesriem.

Day 3: Sesriem to Swakopmund

  • Travel along the scenic Atlantic Coast (approx. 3 hours).
  • Stopover at Walvis Bay for flamingo viewing at the Walvis Bay Lagoon.
  • Reach Swakopmund and enjoy the afternoon exploring the town, its museums, and the beach.
  • Overnight stay in Swakopmund.

Day 4: Swakopmund to Spreetshoogte Pass & Solitaire

  • Morning drive to Spreetshoogte Pass for panoramic views of the Namib Desert (approx. 1 hour).
  • Continue to Solitaire, a small desert village known for its apple pie.
  • Visit the Sesriem Canyon before sunset.
  • Overnight stay at a lodge near Solitaire.

Day 5: Solitaire to Sossusvlei & Return to Sesriem

  • Early morning drive back to Sesriem for another chance to visit Sossusvlei during sunrise.
  • Spend the day exploring the area, perhaps take a hot air balloon ride over the dunes (optional).
  • Overnight stay at a lodge near Sesriem.

Day 6: Sesriem to Etosha National Park

  • Drive to Etosha National Park via Andersson Gate (approx. 3 hours).
  • Afternoon game drive in the park, spotting wildlife around waterholes like Okaukuejo or Namutoni.
  • Overnight stay at a lodge within the park.

Day 7: Full Day Game Drives in Etosha National Park & Departure

  • Spend the day on game drives, visiting areas such as Halali and the Etosha Pan.
  • Keep an eye out for elephants, rhinos, lions, giraffes, and a variety of bird species.
  • Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to visit the Mushara Hilltop Cafe or Von Lindequist Gate before departing from Namibia’s Hosea Kutako International Airport.
