Namibia 6-Day Travel Itinerary (Markdown Format)
Day 1: Windhoek (Capital City) & National Museum
- Arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Windhoek.
- Check into your accommodation and freshen up.
- Visit the Christ Church, a unique architectural wonder in the heart of the city.
- Explore the National Museum of Namibia to learn about the country’s rich history and culture.
- Dinner at local restaurants offering traditional dishes like Omaheke Goat Stew or Kapana (grilled meat skewers).
- Things to know: Windhoek is relatively safe, but be mindful of your belongings in crowded areas.
- Visa requirements: Depending on your nationality, a visa may or may not be required for visiting Namibia. Check the official website before planning your trip.
Day 2: Spreetshoogte Pass & Sesriem (Sossusvlei)
- After breakfast, start your journey to Sossusvlei via the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass.
- Stop at Solitaire for lunch and a quick visit to the famous Welwitschia plants.
- Reach Sesriem in the late afternoon and spend the evening stargazing.
- Things to know: The best time to see sunrise over the dunes is early morning, so set your alarm!
Day 3 & 4: Sossusvlei & Deadvlei (Dunes 45, Hiddenvlei)
- Early wake-up call for a sunrise visit to the famous Sossusvlei and nearby Deadvlei.
- Explore Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, and other dunes in the area.
- After lunch, relax by the swimming pool or go on an optional desert excursion like quad biking or hot air ballooning.
- On Day 4, depart for Swakopmund (approx. 3 hours drive).
- Things to know: Be prepared for sandy roads and rent a car with higher ground clearance if you plan to visit Sossusvlei independently.
Day 5: Swakopmund (Beach, Walvis Bay & Dune 7)
- Morning at leisure in Swakopmund. You can explore the town, relax on the beach, or visit Walvis Bay Lagoon.
- After lunch, head to Dune 7 for an afternoon adventure.
- Optional activities: Dolphin & seal cruise, sandboarding, skydiving, or visiting the Crystal Gallery.
- Things to know: Swakopmund is known for its cool ocean breeze and offers a pleasant escape from the desert heat.
Day 6: Etosha National Park (Elephant & Lion Sightings)
- Depart for Etosha National Park early in the morning.
- Spend the day game driving, looking out for elephants, lions, rhinos, and various other wildlife species.
- Overnight stay at a lodge within the park or nearby Okaukuejo or Namutoni Rest Camps.
- Things to know: Make sure you have a good pair of binoculars and keep your eyes peeled for the famous Etosha pan salt pan.
