Mu La Turkey 5 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Fethiye

  • Arrival: You’ll be arriving in Dalaman Airport (DLM). From here, you can rent a car or arrange for a private transfer to Fethiye (approx. 1 hour drive).

  • Accommodation: Stay at a hotel in the heart of Fethiye like The Orange Tree House or Villa Yasemin for comfortable and convenient stays.

  • Activities:

    • Visit the ancient Roman site of Telmessos (Xanthos) and Letoon archaeological sites.
    • Explore the charming old town, shop at the local bazaar, and walk along the beautiful Fethiye Promenade.
    • Take a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon (Oludeniz) or enjoy a paragliding experience with stunning views of the turquoise sea.

  • Food & Drink:

    • Dinner at Alaçatı Restaurant, offering traditional Turkish cuisine.
    • Taste the local flavors at one of Fethiye’s many street food stalls or cafes.

  • Things to Know: The currency in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TRY). English is widely spoken, especially in tourist areas. Don’t forget your swimsuit!

Day 2: Exploring Saklikent Gorge & Kalkan

  • Activities:

    • Visit Saklikent Gorge and hike through its stunning canyon.
    • Drive to the picturesque coastal town of Kalkan for lunch.
    • Relax on Patara Beach, one of Turkey’s longest and most beautiful sandy beaches.

  • Food & Drink:

    • Lunch at Casita Bonita in Kalkan for Mediterranean cuisine with a twist.
    • Dinner at Sultan Turkish Restaurant in Kalkan, offering traditional dishes and a romantic atmosphere.

Day 3: Day Trip to Dalyan & Iztuzu Beach

  • Activities:

    • Take a boat trip to Dalyan and visit the ancient city of Kaunos, Lycian Rock Tombs, and the beautiful Iztuzu Beach (Turtle Beach).
    • Swim in the thermal springs at Köyceğiz or mud bath at Sakıp Sabancı Sarayı.

  • Food & Drink:

    • Lunch on board your boat trip or at one of the local restaurants in Dalyan.
    • Dinner back in Fethiye.

Day 4: Visit Marmaris

  • Activities:

    • Travel to Marmaris and explore the castle, bazaar, and marina.
    • Take a day trip to Rhodes Island (Greece) or join a daily boat tour to Cleopatra’s Island and Aqua Dream Water Park.

  • Food & Drink:

    • Lunch at one of Marmaris’ seafood restaurants like Restaurant Kervansaray.
    • Dinner at Turgut Reis, offering a variety of international cuisine with a stunning view of the marina.

Day 5: Relaxation & Departure

  • Activities:

    • Spend your last day relaxing on one of Fethiye’s beautiful beaches or enjoy a spa treatment at your hotel.
    • Take a final walk through the old town and do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs.

  • Departure: Depending on your flight schedule, return to Dalaman Airport (DLM) and bid farewell to the beautiful region of Muğla, Turkey.
