Mozambique 3-Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Explore Maputo City

  • Arrival at Maputo International Airport (VPWA)

    • Visa Requirements: Check if your country is on the list of visa exemptions or apply for an e-visa in advance.
    • Transportation: Taxis are readily available outside the airport. Alternatively, pre-book a transfer service.

  • Maputo City Centre

    • Visit the Maputo Central Train Station, a beautiful piece of colonial architecture.
    • Explore the Mercado de Artesanatos (Craft Market) for unique souvenirs.
    • Stroll along Avenida Julius Nyerere and enjoy local cuisine at one of the many restaurants.

  • Maputo Elephant Reserve

    • Afternoon game drive to spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species.
    • Guided tours can be arranged through tour operators or at the reserve’s visitor center.

Day 2: Bahia de Tofo & Marine Life

  • Travel to Bahia de Tofo (Approx. 6 hours by road)

    • Transportation: Rent a car, join a guided tour, or travel by bus from Maputo.

  • Bahia de Tofo Activities

    • Whale shark watching (June to November)
    • Manta ray snorkeling
    • Scuba diving with dolphins and turtles
    • Relax on beautiful, secluded beaches

Day 3: Gorongosa National Park

  • Travel to Gorongosa National Park (Approx. 5 hours from Tofo)

    • Transportation: Rent a car or join a guided tour.

  • Gorongosa National Park Activities
