Day 1: Arrival & Exploration
- Arrive at Rennes Airport or Saint-Malo and transfer to Mont Saint-Michel (approx. 1 hour from each).
- Check-in at your chosen accommodation (see “Where to Stay” section below).
- Visit the Mont Saint-Michel Museum of the Abbey to learn about its rich history.
- Take a stroll along the Ramparts for breathtaking views of the bay and the tidal islands.
- Have dinner at La Mere Poulard or Le Grand Logis, both offering traditional French cuisine.
Day 2: Mont Saint-Michel at High Tide
- Spend the morning exploring the shops, galleries, and narrow streets within the walls of Mont Saint-Michel.
- Visit the Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel to admire its magnificent architecture and learn about its religious history.
- Have lunch at La Chaumiere or Le Refuge des Fous, both offering excellent seafood options.
- In the afternoon, return to the mainland and explore the nearby coastal villages such as Cancale, famous for its oysters.
- Return to Mont Saint-Michel for dinner and enjoy the magical atmosphere at high tide.
Day 3: Day Trip to Saint-Malo

Things to Know
- Mont Saint-Michel is a tidal island, so the tide schedule can affect your visit. Make sure to check the tides before you go.
- Wear comfortable shoes as there are lots of steps and cobblestones within the walls of Mont Saint-Michel.
- Mont Saint-Michel can be very crowded during peak season (June to August), so try to visit early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the crowds.
- Remember to bring a water bottle, as there are not many places to refill it within the walls of Mont Saint-Michel.

Transportation
- The easiest way to get to Mont Saint-Michel is by car or train (to either Rennes or Saint-Malo). Once there, you can park in one of the paid parking lots and walk up to the town.
- Buses are available from Rennes and Saint-Malo, but they may not run as frequently as desired.
- Taxis are also available, but they can be expensive due to the distance from nearby cities.
