Mexico City 6-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Centro Histórico
- Arrive at Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) and transfer to your hotel in the historic center. Recommended hotels: Hotel Casa San Ángel Pojula, Carlota Superior or Palacio de Bellas Artes Boutique Hotel.
- Explore Zócalo (Main Square), Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor, and Palacio de Bellas Artes. Grab lunch at El Cardenal for traditional Mexican dishes.
- In the evening, visit the Mercado de la Merced for a variety of local food options.
- Things to Know: Mexico City’s altitude can be challenging, so drink plenty of water and avoid excessive physical activity during the first day.
Day 2: Museum Day & Polanco
- Start your day with breakfast at Pántalo in Polanco.
- Visit the Museo Nacional de Antropología (ANUA) to learn about Mexico’s pre-Hispanic civilizations. Lunch can be had at the museum’s restaurant, Café Liebre.

Transportation: Mexico City has a reliable and affordable metro system (Metro), as well as ride-hailing apps like Uber, Didi, and Cabify. Taxis are also widely available, but it’s safer to use app-based services or authorized taxis found at taxi stands.
