Mecca Saudi Arabia 5 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Accommodation

  • Accommodation: Book a hotel in the sacred precincts of Mecca (Makkah) or nearby districts like Al Aziziyah, Jabal Omar or Abraj Al Bait. Some popular choices include Movenpick Hotel, Intercontinental Makkah, and Ritz-Carlton.

  • Things to know: Dress modestly and respectfully, carrying appropriate clothing for both men and women is recommended. Follow the local customs and traditions.

  • Transportation: Taxis are readily available, but public transportation within Mecca is limited. The Haramain High-Speed Rail connects King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) with Makkah and Madinah.

Day 2: Visit the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram)

  • Activity: Spend your day exploring the Grand Mosque, perform Umrah or prayers if you wish.

  • Where to eat: There are numerous food courts and restaurants within the Grand Mosque complex offering various cuisines. Al Baik is a popular fast-food chain for Arabic meals.

Day 3: Jabal al-Rahmah (Mountain of Mercy)

  • Activity: Visit the Cave of Hira, where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the first revelation from Allah.

Day 4: Abraj Al Bait Clock Tower & Souq Al-Layl

  • Activity: Visit the world’s fourth tallest building, the Abraj Al Bait Clock Tower, for a stunning view of the city and the Grand Mosque. In the evening, explore Souq Al-Layl, a vibrant market selling various goods.

Day 5: Madinah (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi & Jannatul Baqi)
