Mayotte Travel Itinerary (7 Days)

Day 1: Arrival & Settling In

  • Arrive at Dzaoudzi Pamandzi Airport.
  • Check into your hotel and rest after the journey.
  • Spend the evening exploring local markets and try some traditional Mayotte cuisine.

  • The official language is French, but you’ll also hear a mix of Swahili and Shimaore.
  • The currency used in Mayotte is the Euro (EUR).
  • Electricity is 220V, so remember to bring an adapter if necessary.

Day 2: Explore Dzaoudzi & Kani-Kéli

  • Visit the Mammouth Cemetery, a unique cemetery with tombs built above ground.
  • Discover the bustling town of Dzaoudzi and its neighboring village, Kani-Kéli.
  • Relax on the beautiful beaches of Pompon or Sainte-Marie.

Day 3: Château Rouge & Bouéni

  • Visit the striking red-colored Château Rouge, a former leper colony turned national monument.
  • Head to Bouéni, known for its stunning beaches and marine life. Don’t forget your snorkeling gear!

Day 4: Mtsamboro Island

Day 5: Jumbe Island & Dziani-Foué

  • Spend the day on Jumbe Island, another idyllic location for snorkeling and swimming.
  • In the evening, visit Dziani-Foué, a sacred site with stunning views of the sunset.

Day 6: Kara Hari Nature Reserve & Mtsapéré Waterfall

  • Explore the Kara Hari Nature Reserve, home to various endemic species.
  • Visit the beautiful Mtsapéré Waterfall and swim in its refreshing waters.

Day 7: Departure

  • Spend your last day shopping for souvenirs or relaxing on the beach before your departure.
  • Head back to Dzaoudzi Pamandzi Airport for your flight home.

Transportation:
