Martinique 7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Fort-de-France
- Arrive at Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF) in Martinique.
- Check-in to your hotel and freshen up.
- Explore the vibrant capital, Fort-de-France. Visit the Schoelcher Library, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander around the bustling downtown area, and enjoy local Creole cuisine at Le Bistrot de l’Aubergine or Chez Rasta.
Day 2: Fort Saint-Louis & Les Salines Beach
- Morning visit to Fort Saint-Louis in Le Marin, an impressive French military structure with panoramic views of the sea.
- Head to Les Salines Beach for relaxation and snorkeling. Don’t miss the nearby rum distillery Rhum J.M. for a tasting.
Day 3: Mount Pelée & Balata Botanical Garden
- Travel to the active volcano, Mount Pelée. Take a guided tour to learn about its history and geology.
- Visit the stunning Balata Botanical Garden, home to unique plant species from around the world.
Day 4: Diamond Rock & Les Anses d’Arlet
- Take a boat tour to Diamond Rock, a famous landmark off Martinique’s coast.

Day 5: Saint-Pierre & La Pagerie

- Relax at Anse Caffard Beach, a secluded paradise with clear turquoise waters.
Day 7: Departure
- Spend your last day shopping for souvenirs and enjoying the local cuisine before heading to Aimé Césaire International Airport for your departure.
Things to Know:
- Martinique is a French overseas department, so EU citizens do not need a visa. Other nationalities should check the requirements for travel to France.
- The official language is French, but Creole is also widely spoken. English is less common.
- The currency is the Euro (EUR). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s always good to have some cash on hand.
