Marshall Islands 7-Day Travel Itinerary (Markdown Format)

Day 1: Arrival in Majuro Atoll

  • Arrival: Majuro International Airport (MAJ) is the main gateway to the Marshall Islands. Check visa requirements before traveling (many nationalities do not require a visa for stays up to one month).

  • Accommodation: Book a stay at one of the hotels or guest houses in Delap or Djarrit, such as the Pacific Traveler’s Inn or The Marshallese Resort.

  • Lunch: Visit local restaurants like Copra Shed Cafe for traditional Marshallese dishes.

  • Afternoon: Explore the historic downtown area and visit the Marshall Islands National Museum to learn about the country’s history and culture.

Day 2: Majuro Atoll Sightseeing

  • Morning: Visit the Runit Dome, a controversial structure built to store radioactive waste from nuclear tests conducted during the Cold War era.

  • Afternoon: Spend the afternoon at Anijan Beach Park or Uliga Pier for swimming and snorkeling.

Day 3: Jaluit Atoll

  • Transportation: Take a domestic flight to Jaluit Atoll (Jaltok Airport). Alternatively, travel by boat if available.

Day 5: Kwajalein Atoll

  • Transportation: Travel to Kwajalein Atoll (Kwajalein International Airport). This atoll is home to a U.S. military base, but tourist visits can be arranged.

  • Activities: Explore the beautiful lagoon, visit the Ebeye Island cultural center, and learn about the Marshallese people’s resilience in the face of nuclear tests.

Day 6: Ajeltake Atoll (Utirik Island)

  • Transportation: Take a boat or domestic flight to Ajeltake Atoll (Utirik Airport).

  • Activities: Visit the traditional Marshallese village, relax on the beach, and snorkel in the clear waters.

Day 7: Majuro Atoll Departure

  • Return Journey: Travel back to Majuro Atoll for your departure from MAJ Airport. Don’t forget to purchase local handicrafts such as tivaevae (Marshallese quilts) and kiroji (shell money) as souvenirs.
