Marrakech 6-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Exploring the Medina

  • Stay at: Riad Yasmine or Riad Kniza for an authentic Moroccan experience.
  • Transportation: Taxi or pre-booked airport transfer. (Taxi fare from Airport to Medina: approx. 100 MAD)
  • Activities:
    1. Visit the Ben Youssef Mosque (Closed for renovation until late 2022).
    2. Explore the Souk (Marketplace) for traditional Moroccan goods, spices, and textiles.
  • Dinner: Café Arabe or Nomad, both offering traditional Moroccan cuisine with a contemporary twist.
  • Things to Know: Bargain in the souks, and dress modestly.

Day 2: Jamaa el Fna & Bahia Palace

  • Breakfast at your Riad.
  • Visit Jamaa el Fna during the day to see storytellers, snake charmers, and street performers.
  • Lunch: Grab a quick bite at one of the food stalls in Jamaa El Fna.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Bahia Palace and its beautiful gardens.
  • Dinner: Le Jardin for a romantic rooftop dining experience.

Day 3: Saadian Tombs & Koutoubia Mosque

  • Morning: Visit the Saadian Tombs and learn about the Saadi dynasty.
  • Lunch: Le Foundouk near the tombs for a delicious Moroccan meal.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Koutoubia Mosque and its surroundings.
  • Dinner: Le Tanjia for a taste of Berber cuisine.

Day 4: Palace of Bahia, Museum of Marrakech & Gardens

  • Morning: Continue exploring the Palace of Bahia (if not done on Day 2).
  • Lunch: Café des Epices for a delicious tagine.
  • Afternoon: Visit the Museum of Marrakech to learn about Moroccan art and history. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at one of the city’s beautiful gardens, such as Jardin Majorelle or Le Jardin Secret.
  • Dinner: Al Fassia for a unique dining experience with traditional Moroccan cuisine prepared by female chefs.

Day 5: Day trip to Ourika Valley

  • Rent a car or book a tour for a day trip to the scenic Ourika Valley. Visit Berber villages, enjoy a traditional lunch, and explore local Argan oil cooperatives.
  • Dinner: Return to Marrakech and enjoy a quiet evening in your Riad or try Le Grand Cafe de la Poste for an elegant dining experience.

Day 6: Last Explorations & Departure

  • Spend the morning shopping for souvenirs in the souk or visiting any sights missed during the week.
  • Lunch at your leisure.
  • Transfer to Menara Airport for your departure. (Taxi fare from Medina to Airport: approx. 50 MAD)
