Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Male

Arrival at Velana International Airport (MLE)

- Transportation: You can arrange a speedboat or seaplane transfer from the airport to your resort (additional cost) or take a public ferry if you are staying in Male City (free, but less frequent).

- Visit the National Museum for an insight into Maldivian culture and history.
- Explore the local markets like Fish Market, Chinese-built Tsunami Monument and Sultan Park.
- Enjoy a meal at one of Male’s many restaurants offering both local and international cuisine.

Overnight Stay
- Depending on your resort location, you can either check-in at your beachfront resort or spend the night in Male City if staying there.
Day 2: Island Hopping & Sunset Cruise

Morning:
- Spend the morning exploring your resort island, participate in various water sports activities like snorkeling, diving, or jet-skiing.

Afternoon:
- Embark on an island hopping tour to discover nearby islands and their unique beauty. Some popular islands include Hulhumale, Vilingili, and Maafushi.
- Visit a local village for a glimpse of Maldivian life outside the resorts.

Evening:
- Sunset Cruise: Sail into the sunset on a traditional dhoni boat to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Maldivian sunset and spot dolphins swimming in the ocean.
- Dinner at your resort or local restaurant.
Things to Keep in Mind:
- Currency: The official currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), but USD is widely accepted in resorts and tourist areas.
- Clothing: Modest attire is advised, especially when visiting mosques or local islands. Swimwear should be worn only at the beach and pool.
- Tipping: A service charge is often added to bills in hotels and restaurants, but tipping is still appreciated for exceptional service.
- Internet Connectivity: WiFi is widely available across resorts and many islands.
- Electricity: The voltage in the Maldives is 230V, with type G plugs (three-prong rectangular blade plug). Adaptors are readily available at local shops or airports.
