Malaga 5 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Malaga City

Arrival: Reach Malaga Airport (AGP) and transfer to your accommodation. Consider staying in the historic center for convenience. Hotel Molina Lario or Hotel Boutique Palacio Solecio are good options.
Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Alcazaba, a 10th-century Moorish fortress. Nearby, you’ll find the Roman Theater, hidden amidst the city streets.
Afternoon: Walk through the historic center, visit the Picasso Museum to admire works by Malaga’s most famous son, Pablo Picasso. Have lunch at a traditional tapas bar such as El Tapeo de Cervantes.
Evening: Take a stroll along the Malagueta Beach and enjoy dinner at La Trattoria de Juan for delicious Italian cuisine.

Day 2: Gibraltar Day Trip

Morning: Take a train from Malaga’s Maria Zambrano station to Gibraltar. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Afternoon: Explore the Rock of Gibraltar, visit St. Michael’s Cave, the Great Siege Tunnels, and the famous Barbary Apes. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Evening: Return to Malaga by train in the evening. Consider having dinner at El Pimpi, a popular and historic restaurant in Malaga.

Day 3: Day Trip to Ronda

Morning: Take a bus from the Malaga bus station (Estación de Autobuses) to Ronda (approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes).
Afternoon: Explore the historic town, visit the Puente Nuevo, the oldest bullring in Spain, and the Museum of Bandits. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Evening: Return to Malaga by bus. Have dinner in the city center.

Day 4: Visit Nerja & Frigiliana

Morning: Take a bus from Malaga’s bus station to Nerja. Visit the Caves of Nerja and enjoy the beautiful beaches.
Afternoon: Head to the nearby picturesque village of Frigiliana. Stroll through its narrow, cobbled streets and enjoy lunch in one of the traditional restaurants.
Evening: Return to Malaga by bus. Have dinner at a restaurant in the city center.

Day 5: Relax & Departure

Morning: Spend your last day relaxing at the beach or exploring any attractions you may have missed. Consider visiting Malaga Cathedral or the Contemporary Art Museum (Museum of Contemporary Art).
Afternoon: Depending on your flight schedule, head to Malaga Airport for your departure. Enjoy a farewell lunch at a local eatery before you leave.
