Macau 2-Day Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Explore Historic Macau
Morning:
- Arrival and Check-in - Upon arrival at the Macau International Airport, check into your hotel. Some recommended options are Grand Lisboa Hotel, Sheraton Macau Hotel, or The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel.
- Senado Square (Largo do Senado) - Start your day with a visit to Senado Square, one of the most famous landmarks in Macau. It’s a bustling square surrounded by colorful neo-classical buildings.
- Ruins of St. Paul’s - Just a short walk from Senado Square, you will find the Ruins of St. Paul’s, a 17th-century complex that houses one of the world’s largest religious statues - the Statue of Our Lady of Macau.
Afternoon:
- Macau Tower - Head to the iconic Macau Tower for panoramic views of the city. You can also dine at the revolving restaurant at the top, or take part in other activities like bungee jumping and skywalks.
- Na Tcha Temple - Visit this historic temple dedicated to Macau’s patron saint, Mazu. It is an active place of worship for Macau’s Taoist community.
- Coloane Village - Take a short taxi ride to the charming Coloane Village. Don’t miss the Lord Stow’s Bakery for their famous egg tarts and the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier.
Evening:
- A-Ma Temple - End your day with a visit to A-Ma Temple, Macau’s oldest temple dedicated to the sea goddess Matsu. The temple is beautifully lit up at night, making for some great photos.

Morning:
- The Venetian Macao - Spend your morning exploring The Venetian Macao, one of the largest casinos and shopping centers in the world. Don’t miss the Grand Canal Shoppes for shopping and the indoor gondola rides.
- Parisian Macao - Next door to The Venetian is Parisian Macao, where you can visit an Eiffel Tower replica, Arc de Triomphe, and enjoy French-style dining at one of the many restaurants.
Afternoon:
- Macau Giant Panda Pavilion - Head to the Taipa Houses-Museum area to visit the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion, home to Kai Kai and Xin Xin, two adorable giant pandas on loan from China.
- Hac Sa Beach - Spend some time relaxing at Hac Sa Beach, one of the few sandy beaches in Macau. It can get quite crowded during weekends, so consider visiting earlier in the day.
- Lotus Flower Night Market (Night Market) - In the evening, visit the bustling Lotus Flower Night Market in Taipa Village for local street food, souvenirs, and lively atmosphere.
Evening:
- Ka Ho Seafood Restaurant - Have dinner at Ka Ho Seafood Restaurant for fresh seafood dishes in a traditional setting.
- The House of Dancing Water - End your day with an unforgettable experience at The House of Dancing Water, one of the world’s most spectacular water shows held at the City of Dreams resort.
Things to Know:
- Macau uses the Pataca (MOP) as its currency, but Hong Kong dollars and Chinese yuan are also widely accepted. Credit cards are commonly used in hotels, restaurants, and shops.
- English is not widely spoken in Macau, so it’s helpful to have a translation app or hire a guide.
