Luxor 4 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Karnak Temple

  • Accommodation: Luxor has a variety of accommodations to suit different budgets. Recommended places to stay include the Sofitel Winter Palace, the Sonesta St. George and the Steigenberger Nile Palace.

  • Transportation: Taxis or private cars are readily available at Luxor International Airport. Alternatively, you can arrange for a pickup from your hotel.

  • Activities: Visit the Karnak Temple complex, one of the most impressive ancient sites in Egypt. It’s a short taxi ride away from downtown Luxor. Explore the Great Hypostyle Hall and the Avenue of Sphinxes.

  • Things to Know: Dress modestly when visiting temples and mosques. It’s also advisable to bring bottled water as tap water isn’t safe to drink.

Day 2: Valley of the Kings & Valley of the Queens

  • Activities: Start your day with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs were buried, including Tutankhamun and Ramses II. Afterwards, head to the nearby Valley of the Queens.
