Day 1 - Arrival & Vaduz City
- Arrival: The nearest international airports are Zurich (Switzerland) or Friedrichshafen (Germany). From there, you can take a train to Sargans, Switzerland, and then a bus to Liechtenstein.
- Activity: Spend your first day exploring the capital city, Vaduz. Visit the Vaduz Castle, the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Don’t forget to snap a photo of the castle from the nearby panoramic viewing platform.
- Things to Know: Liechtenstein uses the Swiss Franc (CHF) as its currency, and it’s one of the world’s only two double-landlocked countries (i.e., surrounded by landlocked countries).
Day 2 - Malbun & Gaflei
- Activity: Head to the south of Liechtenstein for a day filled with adventure. Visit Malbun, Liechtenstein’s only ski resort, and enjoy stunning views of the Rhine Valley. Try paragliding or hiking in the area. Later, explore the picturesque village of Gaflei.
- Things to Know: Remember to pack appropriate clothing for outdoor activities, especially in the mountains.
Day 3 - Triesen & Balzers
- Activity: Start your day in Triesen, where you can visit the Liechtenstein National Museum. After lunch, head to Balzers and check out the modern Balzers Art & Historic Museum.
- Things to Know: Both Triesen and Balzers have beautiful hiking trails if you prefer a more leisurely pace.
Day 4 - Ruggell & Schaan
- Activity: Spend your day exploring the eastern part of Liechtenstein. Visit the Ruggell Open-Air Museum, an exhibition of traditional rural buildings and farm machinery. In the afternoon, head to Schaan to see the modern architecture of the Viktoria-Hospital and the Football Stadium.
- Things to Know: Schaan is known for its shopping opportunities, particularly in the Triesenberg area.
Day 5 - Gutenberg Castle & Swimming
- Activity: Take a day trip to visit the Gutenberg Castle, an impressive medieval castle ruins with stunning views. Afterward, relax at one of Liechtenstein’s public swimming pools, such as the Oppidrumbad in Vaduz or the Sportbad Schaan.
- Things to Know: Check the opening hours and entrance fees for the swimming pools before you go.
Day 6 - Hiking & Wine Tasting
