Day 1: Explore Monrovia

  • Morning:

    • Take a tour of the National Museum of Liberia to learn about the country’s history and culture.
    • Relax at First Street Beach, one of Monrovia’s few public beaches.

  • Evening:

    • Enjoy a traditional Liberian dinner at Mamba Point Restaurant.
    • Take a leisurely walk along the Monrovia Boulevard.

Things to Know:

  • Liberia uses the Liberian Dollar (LRD) as its official currency. US Dollars are also widely accepted.
  • English is the official language, but Kru and Grebo are also spoken.
  • Tap water in Liberia is not safe to drink, so stick to bottled water.

Day 2: Discover Robertsfield & Harper

    • Travel to Robertsfield, about 3 hours from Monrovia. Visit the Ducor Palm Plantation for a glimpse into Liberian agriculture.

    • Head to Harper, a coastal town known for its stunning beaches. Visit the Harper Lighthouse.
    • Explore the Presbyterian Heritage Museum to learn about the history of Harper and the Presbyterian Church’s role in Liberia.

Day 3: Adventure in Sapo National Park

    • Travel to Sapo National Park, about 5 hours from Monrovia. This is one of Africa’s last remaining primary forests and home to several endangered species.
    • Go on a guided tour with a local guide to explore the park and spot wildlife.

  • Afternoon:

    • Continue your exploration of Sapo National Park. Don’t forget to visit the Welepyou Falls.
    • Return to Monrovia in the evening.
