Lesotho 2-Day Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Exploring Maseru & Surroundings

Morning:

  • Breakfast at a local restaurant in Maseru (e.g., Café Kunene or Manna’s Restaurant)
  • Visit the National Museum and Cultural Village to learn about Lesotho’s history and culture
  • Stop by the St. Joseph’s Cathedral, one of Maseru’s most iconic landmarks

Afternoon:

  • Drive to Thaba Bosiu (approximately 20 minutes from Maseru) - a significant historical site where Moshoeshoe I and his followers made their last stand against invading forces in the 19th century. Hiking trails and guided tours are available.
  • Visit the nearby Malebese Bird Sanctuary, home to a variety of bird species

Evening:

  • Return to Maseru and enjoy dinner at one of the city’s many restaurants
  • Explore the vibrant local nightlife (e.g., Club 705 or Bannas on Fire)

Day 2: Senoquitla National Park & Semonkong

Morning:

  • Depart early from Maseru towards Senoquitla National Park (approximately 3 hours drive)
  • Enjoy a guided nature walk and spot wildlife such as mountain reedbucks, black wildebeests, and various bird species.

Afternoon:

  • Head to Semonkong (approximately 1 hour from Senoquitla National Park)
  • Visit Maletsunyane Falls, one of the highest single-drop waterfalls in the world, where you can take a thrilling abseiling (rappelling) experience or simply admire the breathtaking view.

Evening:

  • Return to Maseru for dinner and relaxation before departing the next day

Transportation:
