Latvia 5-Day Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Riga
- Arrival at Riga International Airport. (Check Visa Requirements below.)
- Visit the Historic Center of Riga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, and the House of Blackheads.
- Explore the Central Market, one of Europe’s largest and oldest markets.
- Evening: Enjoy a traditional Latvian dinner at Restaurant “3 Lindas” or “Maestro”.
- Transportation: Taxi, public buses (2, 3, 4, 7, 22), or trams are available for getting around Riga.
Day 2: Riga
- Morning: Visit Jurmala, the famous Baltic seaside resort city just a short train ride from Riga. Enjoy its sandy beaches and wooden Art Nouveau architecture.
- Afternoon: Explore the Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum & Archives to learn about Latvia’s World War II history.
- Evening: Take a stroll along the Daugava River or relax at one of Riga’s many rooftop bars, such as Skyline Bar or Uzvaras Markets.
Day 3: Cesis
- Morning: Travel to Cesis (approx. 1 hour by car or bus). Visit the Cesis Medieval Castle and explore the town’s well-preserved historic center.
- Afternoon: Head to Turaida Museum Reserve, a picturesque open-air ethnographic museum showcasing Latvian history and culture.
- Evening: Return to Riga for dinner.
Day 4: Sigulda
- Morning: Travel to Sigulda (approx. 1 hour by car or bus). Visit the Turaida Castle, walk through the Gauja National Park, and explore the Sigulda Medieval Town.
- Afternoon: Try out Bobsledding at the Sigulda bobsleigh track or take a cable car ride over the Gauja river for breathtaking views.
- Evening: Return to Riga for dinner and rest.
Day 5: Ventspils
- Morning: Travel to Ventspils (approx. 3 hours by train or bus). Visit the Ventspils Beach, the longest beach in Latvia.
- Afternoon: Explore the Ocean Station and Aqua Park Ventspils, or take a guided tour of the Ventspils Oil Terminal, one of the largest oil terminals in Northern Europe.
- Evening: Return to Riga for farewell dinner at a local restaurant, such as “Forest” or “Alberta”.

- The official language is Latvian, but English is widely spoken in urban areas and tourist spots.
- Electricity in Latvia operates on a 230 V supply voltage and a 50 Hz plug frequency.
- Tipping is customary, with around 10% being standard in restaurants.
