day 1: Nairobi (Arrival & City Exploration)
- Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
- Depending on your arrival time, explore the city. Visit the Nairobi National Park, home to a rich variety of wildlife just a few minutes from the city center.
- Check into your hotel and rest.
- Evening visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for an up-close encounter with orphaned elephants and rhinos.
day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
- Early morning departure to Amboseli National Park (approx. 4 hours drive).
- Spend the day game driving in this park famous for its big game and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Overnight at a lodge within the park.
day 3: Amboseli National Park to Lake Nakuru
- Morning game drive, then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park (approx. 5 hours drive).
- Arrive and afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingo population and rhinos.
- Overnight at a lodge within the park.
day 4: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
- Morning game drive, then depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve (approx. 5 hours drive).
- Afternoon game drive in this world-renowned reserve, home to the Big Five and vast herds of plains game.
- Overnight at a lodge within the park.
day 5 & 6: Maasai Mara
- Spend two full days exploring Maasai Mara, with morning and afternoon game drives.
- Optional activities include hot air balloon rides, Maasai cultural visits, and night game drives.
day 7: Maasai Mara to Nairobi & Departure
- Morning game drive, then depart for Nairobi (approx. 5 hours drive).
- Afternoon at leisure in Nairobi for last-minute shopping or sightseeing.
- Evening transfer to JKIA for your departure flight.
Things to Know:
- Visa: Most nationalities require a visa to enter Kenya. Apply online through the eVisa system.
- Money: The official currency is the Kenyan Shilling (KES). Credit cards are widely accepted in cities, but less so in parks and smaller towns.
- Health: Yellow fever vaccination is required if you’re coming from a risk area. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for some regions.
