Kathmandu, Nepal 6-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Settling In
- Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu.
 - Check into your hotel (recommended: Dwarika’s Hotel or Yak & Yeti Hotel).
 - Rest and acclimatize to the new environment.
 - Have dinner at Seto Machhindranath Restaurant, a popular local eatery offering authentic Nepali cuisine.
 
Day 2: Kathmandu Durbar Square & Thamel Exploration
- Morning visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to several historical structures such as the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar (the home of the Living Goddess), and many more.
 - Lunch at Newa Osta, a restaurant specializing in traditional Newari cuisine.
 - Afternoon exploration of Thamel, the tourist hub offering shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
 - Dinner at Fire & Ice Restaurant & Bar for some international comfort food.
 
Day 3: Swayambhunath & Pashupatinath
- Morning visit to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), an ancient religious site with stunning views of Kathmandu.
 - Lunch at the Monkey Temple Restaurant & Café, located within the temple complex.
 - Afternoon visit to Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple and cremation site on the banks of the Bagmati River.
 - Dinner back in Thamel, try out Tibetan food at Little Tibet or Momo House.
 
Day 4: Patan (Lalitpur) & Bhaktapur
- Morning trip to Patan (Lalitpur), home to the Patan Durbar Square and a center for traditional arts and crafts.
 - Lunch at Shyangpala, serving authentic Newari cuisine in a cozy atmosphere.
 - Afternoon exploration of Bhaktapur, known for its medieval architecture, pottery, and woodcarving.
 - Dinner at Goldhunga, an upscale Nepali restaurant located within the Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
 
Day 5: Boudhanath & Nagarkot
- Morning visit to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a significant site for Tibetan Buddhism.
 - Lunch at Coffee ’n’ Momos or Olizaa Restaurant nearby Boudhanath.
 - Afternoon drive to Nagarkot (1 hour) for sunset views over the Himalayas.
 - Dinner at Hotel Delek or Restaurant Peaceful Grove in Nagarkot.
 
Day 6: Departure
- Sunrise viewing from Nagarkot, weather permitting.
 - Breakfast and checkout.
 - Drive back to Kathmandu (1 hour) for last-minute shopping or sightseeing.
 - Departure from Tribhuvan International Airport.
 
Transportation
- Taxis and rickshaws are readily available in Kathmandu, though prices may vary.
 - It’s recommended to negotiate fares beforehand to avoid overcharges.
 - To get around the city efficiently, consider renting a motorbike or scooter.
