Iran 7 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Tehran
- Arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport.
- Visit the National Museum of Iran, showcasing over 5,000 years of Persian history.
- Explore Tehran Grand Bazaar, one of the largest bazaars in the Middle East.
- Evening visit to Milad Tower for a panoramic view of Tehran.
- Things to know: Iran’s official language is Farsi (Persian). English is not widely spoken, so having a phrasebook or translator app might be helpful. Also, it’s important to dress modestly in public places (women should cover their hair and wear loose-fitting clothes that cover arms and legs).
Day 2: Tehran - Shiraz (Flight)
- Morning flight to Shiraz.
- Visit the Erafiyeh Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the Zand Dynasty.
- Explore the Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque (Pink Mosque), known for its stunning stained glass windows.
- Visit the Hafez and Saadi Tombs, the burial places of two famous Persian poets.
Day 3: Shiraz - Persepolis - Naghsh-e Rostam - Pasargadae
- Morning visit to Persepolis, the ancient capital of the Achaemenid Empire.
- Continue to Naghsh-e Rostam, where you can see four Sassanian tombs carved into the cliffside.
- Afternoon trip to Pasargadae, the first capital of the Achaemenid Empire, and visit the Tomb of Cyrus the Great.
Day 4: Yazd
- Travel to Yazd.
- Visit the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, a square surrounded by shops, a mosque, a tomb, and four badgirs (windcatchers).
- Explore the Zoroastrian Fire Temple and Towers of Silence.
- Evening visit to Yazd Jame Mosque, one of the oldest adobe buildings in the world.
Day 5: Meymand Village - Shahdad Desert
- Morning trip to Meymand Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Continue to Shahdad Desert and explore the Kalouts (sand formations).
- Overnight in a desert camp.
Day 6: Kerman - Rayen Castle - Mahan - Shahdad - Esfahan (Drive)
- Morning drive to Kerman.
- Visit Rayen Castle, the largest adobe citadel in the world.
- Continue to Mahan and visit the Shah Nematollah-e-Vali Shrine, a Sufi master’s resting place.
- Afternoon drive back to Shahdad, then continue to Esfahan.
Day 7: Esfahan
- Visit the Naghshe Jahan Square, one of the largest public squares in the world, and explore the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Imam Mosque, and Ali Qapu Palace.
- Explore the Bazaar-e Bozorg (Grand Bazaar) and try local delicacies.
- Evening visit to the Si-o-Se Pol Bridge and Khaju Bridge.
- Departure from Esfahan.
Visa Requirements: Tourist visas for Iran can be obtained through an online portal or at the embassy. You will need a passport valid for six months beyond your intended stay, travel insurance, and proof of accommodation.
Transportation: Domestic flights within Iran are affordable, but road trips offer stunning landscapes. Taxis and buses are available for intercity travel.
