Iran 5-Day Itinerary (Tehran & Isfahan)

Day 1: Arrival in Tehran

  • Arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport. Be aware that Iran operates under an Islamic legal system, so it’s essential to dress modestly and respect local customs.
  • Visit the Grand Bazaar of Tehran. It’s one of the largest bazaars in the Middle East with a rich history dating back to the Safavid dynasty.
  • National Museum of Iran. Explore over 5,000 years of Persian history and artifacts, including the magnificent Elamite and Achaemenid collections.
  • Tehran’s Azadi Tower. The symbol of Tehran, built to commemorate the 2,500th year of the Persian Empire.

Day 2: Exploring Tehran

  • Milad Tower. The sixth tallest tower in the world offers panoramic views of the city.
  • Tehran University & Ab-o-Atash Park. Stroll through one of Iran’s most prestigious universities and enjoy the scenic park area.
  • Visit Sa’d Abad Palace Museum. A collection of seven palaces that showcase various architectural styles, from Qajar to Pahlavi eras.

Day 3: Travel to Isfahan (by plane or train)

  • Arrival in Isfahan and check-in at the hotel.
  • Si-o-Seh Pol Bridge. Marvel at this iconic landmark, one of the most famous bridges in the world.
  • Naqsh-e Jahan Square. Explore the square, lined with important historic buildings like Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque and Ali Qapu Palace.

Day 4: Isfahan Sightseeing

  • Chehel Sotun Palace. A beautiful palace known for its reflective pool and forty columns adorned with intricate mirror work and paintings.
  • Isfahan Jameh Mosque. One of the oldest mosques in Iran, featuring a stunning blend of architectural styles.
  • Vank Cathedral. Visit this Armenian Apostolic church, known for its unique architecture and beautiful frescoes.

Day 5: More Isfahan Sightseeing & Departure

  • Isfahan Bazaar. Spend your morning exploring the bustling bazaar, where you can find everything from traditional Persian rugs to delicious local delicacies.
  • Departure. Transfer to Isfahan International Airport for your flight home or to your next destination.
