7-Day Itinerary for Exploring Honolulu, Hawaii
Day 1: Arrival & Downtown Honolulu
- Check in at your hotel (Recommended: The Modern Honolulu)
- Visit Iolani Palace to learn about Hawaiian history and culture
- Explore the King Kamehameha Statue and Thomas Square Park
- Have lunch at Nico’s Pier 36 for some classic Hawaiian seafood
- In the evening, enjoy the sunset at Waikiki Beach and try some local shave ice (Recommended: Matsumoto Shave Ice)
Day 2: Waikiki & Pearl Harbor
- Spend the morning at Waikiki Beach - try surfing or just relax on the beach
- Have lunch at Duke’s Waikiki for some tasty Hawaiian cuisine
- In the afternoon, visit Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Make sure to book tickets in advance
- Dinner at Roy’s Waikiki - renowned for its fusion Hawaiian and Pacific Rim cuisine
Day 3: North Shore
- Head to the North Shore and explore Haleiwa Town for shopping, food, and local culture
- Have lunch at Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck - famous North Shore shrimp truck
- Spend the afternoon relaxing on one of the beautiful beaches along the North Shore, such as Sunset Beach or Banzai Pipeline
Day 4: Diamond Head & East Honolulu
- Morning hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater for stunning views of Waikiki and the coastline
- Visit Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve for snorkeling (Recommended to get there early as parking is limited)
- Have lunch at Kahala Kitchen in Kahala Mall
- Explore the beautiful neighborhood of Kailua and its beaches, such as Lanikai Beach
Day 5: Honolulu Museum of Art & Chinatown
- Visit the Honolulu Museum of Art to appreciate Hawaiian and Asian art and exhibitions
- Explore Chinatown for unique shopping, food, and cultural experiences
- Lunch at The Pig & The Lady - Vietnamese fusion restaurant
- In the evening, enjoy a show at Blue Note Hawaii or visit Leahi Yard for live music and drinks
Day 6: Hiking & Nature
- Spend the day exploring some of Oahu’s beautiful trails, such as Manoa Falls Trail or Lynn Camp Trail to Makapuu Lighthouse
- Have a picnic lunch in the beautiful Hawaiian outdoors
- Dinner at Helena’s Hawaiian Food for some traditional Hawaiian cuisine
Day 7: Leisure & Departure
- Spend your final day relaxing, shopping, or exploring any areas you may have missed during the week
- Have a farewell meal at Alan Wong’s Restaurant - one of Honolulu’s finest restaurants
- Depart Honolulu with memories and pictures to last a lifetime!
