Gabon 5-Day Travel Itinerary (Markdown Format)

Day 1: Arrival in Libreville & City Exploration

  • Arrive at Léon M’BA International Airport, Libreville.
  • Check into your hotel and freshen up.
  • Visit Avenue de l’Indépendance, the heart of the city, featuring impressive buildings like the Palace of Nations and the Gabonese National Assembly.
  • Explore the Museum of Gabon to learn about the country’s history, culture, and wildlife.
  • Enjoy local cuisine at a restaurant in the city center.

Day 2: Loango National Park

  • Early morning departure to Loango National Park. It’s a 4-hour drive from Libreville.
  • Spend the day on a guided safari, spotting wildlife such as elephants, gorillas, and various primates.
  • Don’t miss the opportunity for sea safaris to see marine life including dolphins and whales!
  • Overnight stay in a lodge within the park.

Day 3: Pongara National Park & Beach Time

  • Morning visit to Pongara National Park, home to numerous hippos, crocodiles, and sea turtles.
  • Afternoon relaxation at Lopé Beach. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or exploring the local village.
  • Overnight stay near Lopé Beach.

Day 4: Owendo & Moungali Forest Reserve

  • Drive to Owendo, a small port town on the Atlantic Coast.

Day 5: Departure from Libreville

  • Return to Libreville (approx. 6 hours drive).
  • If time permits, visit the François-Xavier Bagnoud Aviation Memorial Centre or do some last-minute shopping at local markets.
  • Prepare for your departure from Léon M’BA International Airport.
